Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, September 25, 2006
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- Peter Browning of Florida, Party Building Committee
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Mike Eller of Michigan, Finance Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
- JC Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:15 p.m.
Mr. Eller moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Browning seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He has drafted a press release for circulation shortly. He also reported that he has prepared another activism proposal for consideration by the Party Building Committee. He described some issues relating to police harassment of pro-life activists in Massachusetts. He has also contacted a generous donor in New Hampshire to thank him for his contribution.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the September 11, 2006 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Eller, and adopted by unanimous vote.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $3,763.46. There are no outstanding invoices due at this time.
Mr. Fleharty reported that the Ballot Access Committee last met on September 13. The Committee has assigned new states to its members for ballot access research. The next meeting will take place October 11.
Mr. Browning delivered a Party Building Committee report. Several states are being moved along toward organizing committee status. The Committee will meet Tuesday evening.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee does not have any issues outstanding at this time.
There being no further business, upon motion made by Mr. Eller, seconded by Mr. Browning, and adopted by unanimous consent, the meeting was adjourned at 9:39 p.m.
