Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, July 30, 2007
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- J. C. Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:09 p.m.
Mr. Schweingrouber moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. White seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He has been working with the Partybuilding Committee, which appointed an organizer for Tennessee last week. Interviews for organizer in Kansas are scheduled for later this week. The Chairman is working on a press release on the recent executive order permitting administrative confiscation of property. He discussed an advertising opportunity that needs to be addressed by the Public Relations Committee.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the July 23, 2007 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. White. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
The Secretary reported that the Activist Pamphlet has been received from the printer and will start going out this week.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 6,911.31. There are no outstanding unpaid invoices due at this time.
Mr. Hill reported that the Partybuilding Committee is meeting tomorrow to hold an interview for organizers in Kansas. A discussion was held regarding other potential organizers in other states.
Mr. Schweingrouber delivered the Public Relations Committee report. The newspaper will be finalized at this Saturday's meeting.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee continues on hiatus.
A discussion took place about an advertising opportunity.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Hey, and adopted by unanimous consent, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
