Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, September 17, 2007
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- J. C. Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:21 p.m.
Mr. White moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Schweingrouber seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous vote.
The Chairman delivered his report. The Partybuilding Committee interviewed a potential organizer for Idaho. Mr. Hill reported on some research he has been doing for several possible articles.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the September 10, 2007 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Schweingrouber. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote, Mr. White abstaining.
The Secretary reported progress in fulfilling the orders for the latest newspaper issue.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 5,443.27. There are some invoices relating to the newspaper mailing which will be coming due in the next week.
Mr. White reported that the Candidates Committee is on hiatus.
Mr. Hill stated that the Finance Committee is working on a fund-raising letter to follow up the latest issue of the newspaper.
Mr. Hill reported that the Partybuilding Committee will be meeting tomorrow evening to discuss some potential organizers.
Mr. Schweingrouber delivered the Public Relations Committee report. The committee is working on articles for the next newspaper.
A time of discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Schweingrouber, and adopted by unanimous consent, the meeting was adjourned at 9:52 p.m.
