The Chairman delivered his report. He was interviewed by English AlJazeera on third party influences, which went well. The interview can be seen on the party website. He reported on some local literature distribution activities. He intends next to take up working on the fundraising letter and the monthly thank you letter.
A discussion of the timing of the fundraising letter took place.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the October 20, 2008 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Lynch. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
The newspaper was mailed out last Monday, and most people have reported receiving it. The Patriot Alert email list already has a substantial number of subscribers in the short time that it has been active.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 6795.67. There are no unpaid invoices at this time.
Mr. Hill reported that the Finance Committee will soon be working on the fundraising letter.
Mr. Lynch reported the PR Committee will be meeting this Saturday to discuss revisions of the introductory newsletter. A winter edition of the newspaper is in the works as well. He has made contact with the American Conservative website regarding the party's purchase of a banner ad there.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee is meeting Thursday to interview Mr. Meier from Ohio.
A discussion took place regarding the Patriot ALERT email list, which has acquired sufficient members to justify its activation.
Mr. White moved the adoption of the following Resolution. His motion was seconded by Mr. Lynch. The Resolution reads as follows:
Resolved, that the Operating Committee acknowledges Mr. Peter Browning's conception of the Patriot ALERT email list and his volunteering of his time to compile, compose and submit the required ALERT texts; and
That pursuant to the direction of the National Committee at its October 7, 2008 meeting, the Operating Committee hereby appoints Mr. Browning to compile and compose the required ALERT texts, and submit them to the Operating Committee reflector; and
That the National Secretary is authorized to make any technical and typographical corrections, and to post them to the Patriot ALERT list.
The Resolution was adopted by unanimous vote.
A further time of general discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. White, seconded by Mr. Lynch, and adopted by unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 10:21 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
