Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, March 22, 2010
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- Michael Lynch of New York, Public Relations Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:28 p.m.
Mr. Lynch moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Hey seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He described some contacts he's had with potential supporters. He reported some new interesting economic news relating to the potential collapse of the federal financial ratings.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the March 15, 2010 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Lynch. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
Extra copies of past newspapers have been mailed this week.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $7532.28. There are no unpaid invoices at this time, but some will come due relative to the newspaper mailing.
Mr. Hill reported that the Finance Committee will begin work on the fund-raising letter to be sent out in the next 45 days.
Mr. Lynch reported that the Public Relations Committee will be meeting soon to discuss future publicity and publishing plans. The party's web ad is running again on the AmConMag site for a month.
A discussion took place regarding a potential appearance on a web radio show.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee has finished all its business for the present time.
A time of general discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Hey, seconded by Mr. Lynch, and adopted by unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 10:11 p.m.
