Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party

BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- Michael Lynch of New York, Public Relations Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:19 p.m.
Mr. Lynch moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Hey seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He has prepared a press release commenting on the "tea party" movement. He discussed some matters related to possible economic collapse in the stock market. He reported some positive feedback at local events where he has circulated copies of the latest newspaper. He stated his opinion that sudden changes in the economic conditions may well drive sharply greater interest in the party's message and organization.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the April 12, 2010 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Lynch. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
Several hundred address corrections have been used to update the party database of members and supporters. The fund-raising letter will be prepared and handed over to be stuffed and mailed by the end of the week.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $5591.68. There are no unpaid invoices.
Mr. Hill reported that the Finance Committee will be working on resolutions to fund the next round of newspapers and mailings.
Mr. Lynch reported that the party's AmConMag web ad received over 409,000 impressions, and 713 click-throughs to the party website. The PR Committee will meet on May 8 to discuss future plans for the newspaper and website.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee has finished all its business for the present time.
A time of general discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Hey, seconded by Mr. Lynch, and adopted by unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 9:47 p.m.
