Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, June 7, 2010
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- Michael Lynch of New York, Public Relations Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:15 p.m.
Mr. Lynch moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Hey seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He has sent out some membership packets and prepared some finance committee resolutions for future funding. He reported some interesting interactions regarding support for the party. He presented information regarding a potential economic collapse.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the May 24, 2010 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Lynch. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
The fundraising letter responses have started coming in. Some discussion took place about obtaining a new batch of bumper stickers and printed t-shirts for the party store.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $4987.51. There are no unpaid invoices, nor are any expected in the next month. The FEC report has been submitted and may be viewed on the FEC's public website.
Mr. Hill reported that the Finance Committee is considering funding resolutions for the next issue of the newspaper.
Mr. Lynch reported that he will be scheduling a PR meeting for a later time after the members return from vacations, etc. A discussion took place regarding additional advertising with the American Conservative website.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee has finished all its business for the present time.
A time of general discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Hey, seconded by Mr. Lynch, and adopted by unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 9:58 p.m.
