NYC's Hypocrite Oath: Doctors to Learn to Kill

Boulder, CO — The newly formed America First Party denounces in the strongest possible terms a recent New York City mandate which requires that all residents in obstetrics and gynecology be trained in abortion procedures. Until now, this instruction was an elective. Now the Republican administration of Michael Bloomberg will be spending taxpayer dollars to teach the next generation of doctors how to kill, beginning this July.

Guadalupe Lynch, Chair, Illinois AFP, stated: "How sad that students who have chosen a noble profession dedicated to healing the human body, are now required to learn how to destroy it. This is not medical progress. This is a regression to barbaric times. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath?"

Interim National Chair Dan Charles responded, "The Hippocratic Oath has provided moral guidance to physicians for 2500 years and says in part:

I will not give a fatal draught to anyone if I am asked, nor will I suggest any such thing. Neither will I give a woman means to procure an abortion.

Now for the purely political aim of increasing acceptance of abortion, taxpayer dollars are going to be used to teach our doctors how to kill our most vulnerable and to violate their sacred oath. The America First Party strongly supports and values life. We recognize that not everyone yet agrees with us, but we hope that everyone will agree with us that this new requirement is morally reprehensible and a corrupt use of tax dollars."

America First Party Press Secretary Romelle Winters noted: "Our Constitution, in its preamble, states that the blessings of liberty be for us and our Posterity. If we are murdering our children before their birth, exactly who will our Posterity be?"

She continued, "Doctors are expected to do what is best for their patients. Given the apparent political goal, it is doubtful that the mandatory abortion training will include an admonition to the doctor to tell the patient about the many problems caused by the procedure they are learning. Women experience a lifetime of physical and psychological repercussions after an abortion. When a woman is pregnant, her doctors have two patients. Most doctors know this. Apparently, many political types in both parties do not."

Mr. Charles concluded, "Medical training relies heavily on tax dollars and the America First Party feels that it is a dangerous precedent to have citizen's money used to promote the advancement of the culture of death. The Democrats have long been advocates of abortion and are now joined by the Republicans, who approved the initiative. Without principle, victory is but bitter fruit. We are building this party so that all Americans can breath free and taste of fruit that is sweet."
