MR. PRESIDENT: BLOOD OF INNOCENTS IS ON YOUR HANDS
Boulder, CO - The America First Party expresses its outrage at reports from
reliable sources that one of the suspects in the sniper killings is an
illegal alien who had been detained, and then illegally released, by
officials of the Immigration and Naturalization Service ("INS") last
January.
National Chairman Dan Charles announced, "The President has innocent blood
on his hands tonight. He has left undone that which was essential for the
defense of our people. While those who committed these crimes are responsible
for their own actions, and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the
law, President Bush and his INS allowed this to happen. Those who failed to
enforce the law should lose their jobs, at a minimum."
"The blame for this disaster lies squarely with the President," declared
National Secretary John Pittman Hey. "If President Bush really took his
oath of office seriously, his first priority would be the defense of the
lives of American citizens. Yet, after over 3000 innocent people were
slaughtered last year by Al Qaeda operatives, many of whom were illegal
aliens, the President did nothing to secure our borders. He took no
effective steps to round up illegal aliens who are breaking our laws and
destroying our peace. He has jeopardized our safety."
The America First Party has previously made public demands that the
President defend our borders and round up, detain, and expel all illegal
aliens immediately. Mr. Hey continued, "Those demands were ignored, and now
we discover that the President's inaction has resulted directly in needless
weeks of terror for our people, and the taking of the lives of eleven
innocent American citizens."
Mr. Charles added, "The President is the Chief Executive of this country.
That means he is ultimately responsible for the INS violation of federal law
and release of a mass murderer onto our streets. Since 9-11, the President
has used the terror threat as an excuse to harass and intimidate law-abiding
Americans at airports, to strip away basic civil rights with the so-called
'Patriot Act', to create the massive 'Homeland Security' bureaucracy, and to
push the nation back into deficit spending. To top it all off, Bush has
used these events as an excuse shamelessly to whip up war hysteria against
Iraq."
"But Bush has done absolutely nothing to defend our borders and expel the
terrorists. That is shameful misconduct; that is gross incompetence; that is
dereliction of duty on the part of the President," Mr. Charles continued.
