AFP TO JOIN FREEDOM DRIVE, URGES PARTICIPATION
Boulder, CO - The America First Party urges all of its members to
participate in the Freedom Drive, a caravan and series of rallies, starting
Veteran's Day weekend in Salt Lake City, and culminating at the east end of
the Washington Mall near the US Capital on November 14. The event is
sponsored by the We the People Congress, and America First Party National
Chairman Dan Charles will be addressing the Washington, DC rally.
Mr. Charles stated, "It is said that the world is run by those who show up.
This Veterans Day we are reminded that many of our fellow Americans made the
ultimate sacrifice to preserve our nation and her Constitution. We hope to
pay tribute to them by taking positive and proactive steps to preserve and
protect the values for which they fought, and in some cases died. We
encourage all Americans to participate in this effort to petition our
federal government for redress of grievances, in the best tradition of
grassroots activism."
Mr. Charles continued, "While the We the People Congress seeks to change the
behavior of our political class, and the America First Party takes a
different approach by seeking to replace the current political class with
principles citizens, both organizations are working to solve the same
problems facing our republic. If the American people come together to solve
the problems facing us, we can accomplish anything."
The We the People Congress is presenting petitions of grievance regarding
four wrongs recognized by the Party. The Income Tax, the War Powers
Clauses, the Patriot Act, and the Federal Reserve are all creations of an
out-of-control federal government.
Mr. Charles added, "The American people have been encumbered by a new kind
of slavery imposed by their own elected officials. With few avenues
available for redress, the American public has accepted the incremental
infringement on the liberties granted by our Creator. It is now time that
we preserve the freedoms preserved by the blood of patriots who died to
protect and defend those rights central to our Constitution."
Bob Schulz, chairman of We the People Congress, spent months amassing
petitions, which list the major grievances addressed by the organization.
These appeals were gathered from concerned citizens and will be presented to
Congress on November 14.
In response to the news of AFP participation, Mr. Schulz stated: "The great
American experiment, with its Constitution, is hanging by a single thread
and the People are at fault--we let it happen. We have allowed the eye of
citizen vigilance to be all but closed. We have allowed our servant
government to seize power and control of our House. They no longer show
respect for the People or their Rule Book. Please help keep the flame of
Liberty burning. The Constitution cannot defend itself. Do not let the
great American experiment wither and die on the vine. A moment full of
historical potential draws near. Let us manifest the future we envision.
Together, let us restore the Constitution. Let's stay the course."
