Resolution in Support of the FairTax (HR 2525)
(Adopted by the National Convention on August 10, 2002)
Since the FairTax (HR 2525) is a bill currently in Congress; and
Since HR 2525 is consistent with our party platform, ending all forms of federal income taxation - personal income tax, inheritance (death) tax, gift tax, capital gains, corporate income tax and payroll taxes - ensuring working Americans get their full paychecks and extracting the federal tax collector from our families and homes, while ensuring that no one in America pays taxes of any kind on their necessities of life, ensuring opportunity and quality of life for low and fixed income Americans; and
Since HR 2525 returns us to a tax consistent with the intent and content of the unamended Constitution, eliminating the need for the Sixteenth Amendment;
Be it resolved that the America First Party strongly supports and firmly endorses the earliest possible passage of HR 2525, and immediate signing by the President, as a means to ensure personal freedom and enhanced civil rights for all Americans, while giving American industry a fair advantage in the world marketplace.
